Off the Record: Two Media Founders on the Last Decade of Vancouver Tech
What does Vancouver's tech scene actually look like when you've watched it up close for a decade? William Johnson, founder of Vancouver Tech Journal, and Rob Lewis, founder of Techcouver, have both been telling that story . and living it . since the mid-2010s. In this candid fireside chat, William and Rob interview each other about the Vancouver tech ecosystem they arrived in, the one that exists today, and everything that shifted in between. William landed in Vancouver in April 2015, just as the city's startup scene was beginning to find its footing. Rob sold his first media business, Techvibes, in June 2016 . capping a chapter and opening a new one as an observer and chronicler of what came next. Together, they'll reflect on the builders, the moments, and the quiet turning points that shaped a decade of Vancouver tech . and what the stories we tell about this ecosystem say about where it's headed. Speakers: William Johnson, Robert Lewis, Shinjini Manchanda Presented by Vancouver Tech Journal
